| Z51 Joel just added a nice set of kooks 1 7/8 longtube headers to his LS3 and a nice 3 inch x-pipe from kooks also Disconnect the Battery using a 10mm wrench then remove the dipstick and tube by removing the 15mm screw that holds the tube to the block Raise the vehicle atleast 24inchs off the ground and support using jackstands Remove the spark plug wires and the spark plug Remove the front and rear O2 sensors but only remove the rear at this time We then removed the complete exhaust with the exception of the catback because we were going to reuse it with the old system on the ground you can remove the front two oxygen sensors remove the automatic transmission cooling line hold down bracket located on the passenger side of the block just forward of the bell housing connect the oxygen sensor to the kooks header and tighten slide the header up from under the vehicle, attach the header and gasket with two of the 13mm bolts from the installation kit but do not tighten them....we decided to use the OEM gasket Since the factory Oxygen Sensor is not long enough kooks supplies you with a longer sensor..at this time reconnect the front sensor using the new harness Install the remaining header bolts but do not tighten Install the kooks xpipe and midpipe using the clamps provided....after everything is aligned you can now tighten the full assembly connect the rear oxygen sensors using the remaining two harnesses reinstall the dipstick and tube and connect the battery and enjoy | |
