Ethanol % testing

Doing some training on engine management systems this week and came across a quick and easy ethanol content test.Since a lot of use here use ethanol i figured i would share it with you guys. I have attached a picture on the instructions of how the test is done. But basically is you add your fuel (10ml) to a beaker and then add water (2ml) shake it up and the water should dilute and absorb the alcohol in the fuel. Now the water level should increase, you subtract the difference (before you shook it) in water rise and then multiply it by ten = % of ethanol.

ya, Davie rd/Stirling has tested e90 most of the time.
